"You don't get in life what you want; you get in life what you are."
- Les Brown
Be thankful for everything around you.
Look at the small things and appreciate them while you can - all too often we forget to appreciate the sounds we hear, the ability to see and the beautiful sights, and the people around us that we take for granted.
Look at the big things and take in every ounce, good or bad - for they are all experiences and memories that will shape your life.
Start to turn every negative into a positive - a negative is a glitch that WILL be overcome and will change given time. We get so consumed with our own existence that we fail to realise how special our lives are and that there are people out there who do not have the pleasures we take for granted.
Happiness comes from you and no-one else - you determine how you are feeling so why waste time concentrating on feeling sad. Every minute you spend sad is a minute of happiness you have lost in your life and that can never be reclaimed.
Life isnt a practice its the real thing and time never stands still so dont ruin what you have by consuming yourself with the past - live for today, appreciate what you have and hope for tomorrow, for we all take for granted that there may never be another tomorrow, and for some this will be a reality.
"Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness, and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again."
Thankyou to David in ICU for making me realise this for my lifetime x
